You do not download “a shirt.” You receive (or subscribe to) a living recipe: a set of constraints, material behaviors, adaptive rules, and an aesthetic prior. The system then grows a unique instance on your body, using your measurements, movement, climate, and whatever personal data you allow. Two people following the same creator never wear the identical object.
Aerogel is mostly empty space. That is why it insulates so well at almost no weight or thickness. The panel already has a thermal map locked to a narrow comfort band (28–34°C) and a climate-response slider. A wool or mycelium scaffold can give the childhood hand-feel and the living drape; a discontinuous aerogel phase—particles, pockets, or a gradient foam—can hold heat without turning the garment into a puffer.Present-day problems are real: silica aerogel is brittle, dusty, and unpleasant against skin. That is why the recipe is multi-scale wool / aerogel / mycelium, not “an aerogel dress.” The aerogel never has to be the outer cloth. It sits inside a matrix that flexes, repairs, and manages moisture. In an ASI fabrication stack those constraints are design parameters, not blockers: encapsulate the particles, grade the density at elbows and lungs, dump heat when the rain-adaptive layer opens.
The justification is thermal: keep the garment thin and mobile while it still holds a private climate. Wool is the memory and the touch. Mycelium is the grown structure. Aerogel is the vacuum you do not have to carry as bulk.
